Serious auto accident claims 2 in California

A recent tragedy on a local road has taken the life of one man and also that of an unborn baby. The serious auto accident in California occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 19 in the morning hours. Authorities are still investigating the accident, and local families are mourning their losses.

The man who was killed, identified only as a 29-year-old man, was stopped at a stop sign when he moved into cross traffic. His vehicle was struck by another car, driven by a pregnant woman, who t-boned the vehicle. The man lost his life as a result of the impact. The woman was taken to the hospital where she later lost her baby. She is expected to recover from her injuries.

Reports indicate that the month of December has been particularly bad for fatal auto accidents in the Merced County area. Prior to the latest event, seven other people have been lost to auto accidents this month. Law enforcement officials urge drivers to slow down and have stated that wearing seat belts has been an issue for drivers and passengers in the past.

The thought of losing a loved one in a serious auto accident is sobering for many. Although nothing can take away the grief, the surviving family members may be able to recover some of the physical and emotional costs of losing someone to a driver's negligent behavior. If a person has been affected by the negligent actions of another driver in California, he or she may wish to consult an attorney for guidance on how to recover the losses.
